Drumsound & Bassline Smith wins at the Official Drum & Bass Awards

Cleaning up at the Drum and Bass Awards 2012 were British group Drumsound & Bassline Smith who won in 2 categories; Best Track and Best Video for their track ‘Close’ – beating off the likes of DJ Fresh and Hesit to the title. The trio, who met in Derby at the legendary Technique club nights, also came in 2nd in the Best Producer category being narrowly beaten by DJ Fresh.

The guys have been running their label Technique Recordings for 13 years and have had countless success with tracks such as ‘Odyssey’, ‘Close’ and recently ‘What Can You Do For Me’ – a collaboration with the tracks originators Utah Saints. The track has been championed by Radio 1 royalty Zane Lowe and Annie Mac and has been playlisted for weeks and this week entered the official top 40 at number 28.
